Jhansi
A city in the southwest of Uttar Pradesh, northern India. A key railway location. A distribution center for agricultural products such as grains and cotton. It was the capital of the princely state of the same name from 1770 to 1853, and most of the city is surrounded by a wall. Queen Lakshmi Bai is famous for her role in the Indian Rebellion. Population: 548,000 (2011).
