Born on May 27, 1867. Studied under Goseda Horyu and later studied at Koyama Shotaro's Fudosha. Studied in America and France, and participated in the establishment of the Japan Watercolor Association Research Institute in 1906. He later became active in the Kansai art world. Died on February 15, 1936, at the age of 70. Born in Osaka. His pen name was Mugai. His works include "Poplars and Summer Mandarins".
