Edozumi Sake Brewing Association

...Specifically, Nadame consists of the Upper Nada and the Lower Nada, the Upper Nada belonging to Uhara District, Settsu Province, and the Lower Nada belonging to Yatabe District, Settsu Province. Together with Imazu in Muko District, the three Nada districts made up three of the twelve districts of the Edo Tsumi-Setsu Setsen Junigo Shuzo Nakama. In addition to the Nada district, the other twelve districts were Osaka, Denpo, Ikeda, Itami, Amagasaki, Kitazai, Hyogo, Nishinomiya, and Sakai, which formed the Edo Tsumi-Setsu Shuzo Nakama in the mid-Edo period and monopolized the Edo Tsumi-Setsu brewing business only for these twelve districts. However, the development of the sake brewing industry in Nadame was particularly remarkable in the Upper Nada, and at its peak in the Bunka and Bunsei periods (1804-30), the Upper Nada was further divided into three districts (districts): the East District, the Middle District, and the West District.
