The Dictionary of Erudition by Ambrogio Calepino (1435-1511), published in Reggio, Italy in 1502, included Latin as well as several other languages, including Italian, and the 1590 edition included 11 languages. As this Dictionary of Erudition symbolizes, the 16th and 17th centuries were the age of foreign language dictionaries, and as a result of the enthusiasm for classical studies and global trade and exchange during the Renaissance, dictionaries were published one after another in modern languages ​​such as French and Italian in addition to Latin and Greek.
