"Cartas de Japon" - Cartas de Japon

…The title of the Japanese translation of the so-called Cartas do Japão, which was published in Evora, Portugal in 1598 and is a collection of letters sent between 1549 and 1580 by Padre and Irmao, members of the Society of Jesus who had traveled to both Japan and China, to members of the Society in India and Europe. The 'Jesuit' name is a phonetic reading of the modern Chinese transliteration of 'Jesus'.
