A Buddhist theorist of the 4th century. The son of a Brahmin in central India. He belonged to the Samkhya school, but later heard the Sarvastivada scholar Kumararata's Treatise on the Acharya of Wisdom and the Buddha's teachings. He was influenced by the Sathyatva and the Emptiness school and wrote the Sarvatva-sattva Treatise on the Realization of One's True Nature (20 volumes).
