Japanese: 唐瀬原 - からせばる

A diluvial plateau in the northern coastal region of central Miyazaki Prefecture, part of the Miyazaki Plain. Most of it belongs to Kawaminami Town. A gravel layer from the Quaternary Pleistocene (Pleistocene) sits on top of the sandstone and mudstone from the Neogene Period, and is covered by a lower volcanic ash layer (black bittern, red bittern) and an upper volcanic ash layer (black sea hoya, red sea hoya). The area was once used as a military training ground for parachute troops. After World War II, it was developed into farmland. In addition to irrigated rice paddy cultivation, livestock farming has developed in recent years. Sorinbara in the southern part of the plateau is the site of an ancient battle between the Shimazu and Otomo clans in 1578.

宮崎県中部，宮崎平野の一部で北部海岸地域にある洪積台地。大部分が川南町に属する。新第三紀層の砂岩，泥岩の上に第四紀更新世（洪積世）の礫層が載り，その上を下部火山灰層（黒にが，赤にが），上部火山灰層（黒ほや，赤ほや）が覆う。かつては軍用地として落下傘部隊訓練地に利用。第2次世界大戦後は開拓が進み畑作地となる。灌漑による水田耕作のほか，近年は畜産が発達。台地南部の宗麟原は，天正6（1578）年島津氏と大友氏が戦った古戦場。
