Karasuma Toyomitsu
1378-1429 A nobleman from the Muromachi period.
Born in the 4th year of the Tenju era (1611-1615). The third son of Hino Sukeyasu. After serving as a councilor, Gon Chunagon, Kebiishi betto, and other positions, he became regent of Komatsu-in 20 years after the Oei era. His sisters were Kitayama-in, wife of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and Jiju-in, wife of Ashikaga Yoshimochi, and he was highly valued as a close aide to Yoshimochi. With the help of Ashikaga Yoshinobu (later Yoshinori), he took the name Karasuma, and became the founder of the Karasuma family. He died on February 18, 2nd year of the Shocho era (1615-1616). He was 52 years old. He was posthumously awarded the rank of Juichii and the title of Naidaijin.

永和4=天授4年生まれ。日野資康(すけやす)の3男。参議,権(ごんの)中納言,検非違使(けびいし)別当などをへて応永20年後小松院の執権となる。将軍足利義満の妻北山院や足利義持の妻慈受院を姉妹にもち,義持側近として重用された。足利義宣(のち義教)のはからいで烏丸と称し,烏丸家の祖となる。正長(しょうちょう)2年2月18日死去。52歳。従一位,内大臣を追贈された。
