In 1943, it was separated from Shari Town and Koshimizu Village to become Kamishari Village, and in 1980, when the town was established, it took one character each from Koshimizu and Shari to become Kiyosato Town. It occupies the western slope of Mount Sharidake (1,547m), and the Senmo Main Line runs along the Shari River. ...
