Hebei Plain

...In the oldest geographical book in China, the Yu Gong (a part of the Book of Documents), it belongs to the two prefectures of Kyushu, Ji and Yan, but since most of it was in the Jizhou region, it is still sometimes called Ji Province.

In the flat Hebei Plain, which opens to the southeast, the Taihang Mountains are to the west and the Yanshan Mountains to the north, so the rivers flow from west to east and empty into the Bohai Bay. This plain is an alluvial plain formed by the Yellow River (which once flowed through the southern part of the province into the Bohai Bay), the Hai River, the Luan River, and others, and most of it is below 50 meters above sea level.
