1874-? Leader of the Dutch East Indies Theosophical Society. From the beginning of the 20th century, branches of the Theosophical Society were established by the Dutch in various parts of Indonesia. The Semarang branch in 1901 and the Yogyakarta branch in 1902 are well known, but from around 1912 to April 1923, Labberton taught Javanese at William III Gymnasium in Batavia (now Jakarta), while also serving as chairman of the society and active through the Monthly Theosophical Journal.
