Kano Risei

Japanese: 嘉納履正 - かのうりせい

Born: November 25, 1900, Tokyo
[Died] January 13, 1986. The third director of the Tokyo Kodokan. The second son of Jigoro Kano. Graduated from Kokugakuin University. In 1946, he became director after the second director, Jiro Nango. In 1949, he founded the All Japan Judo Federation and became its first president. When the International Judo Federation was formed in 1952, he became its first president, and in 1965, when he retired, he was recommended as honorary president. He played a major role in the reconstruction and internationalization of judo after World War II. His main work is "Growing Judo."

講道館 3代目館長。嘉納治五郎の二男。國學院大學卒業。 1946年2代目館長南郷次郎のあとをうけて館長となる。 1949年全日本柔道連盟を創立し初代会長に就任。 1952年国際柔道連盟の結成とともにその初代会長，1965年退任し名誉会長に推薦された。第2次世界大戦後の柔道の再建と国際化に果たした役割は大きい。主著『伸び行く柔道』。
