...In the early days, the style of Sekimono included the dignified thin straight blades represented by Kanekichi, but in general, most of them were based on practical, subdued "notare" (a type of blade with a deep fragrance) and "togarigunomemidare" (a type of blade with a sharp and irregular pattern). Among them, there were also some highly individualistic blades, such as Kanefusa's "Kanefusa Clove" with its unique clove pattern and "Kanemoto's Sanbonsugi" with its sharp and irregular pattern. Also, what is particularly noteworthy about Sekimono is their extremely sharp cutting edge, and Kanemoto (Seki no Magoroku) and Kanesada were often cited as the finest swordsmiths in the Edo period, that is, the sharpest swordsmiths. ...
