Silver fox - Gingitsune (English spelling) silver fox

A type of fox that belongs to the order Carnivora, family Canidae, class Mammalia. The upper coat of the body is black except for the white tip of the tail, and because it has many white streaks mixed in, it appears silver at first glance. It is common in cold regions such as Siberia and Canada. It is farmed for its fur because its fur is expensive.

哺乳(ほにゅう)綱食肉目イヌ科に属するキツネの一色相。白い尾端を除き体の上毛が黒く、白い差し毛が多数混生するため、一見銀色である。シベリア、カナダなど寒冷な地方に多い。毛皮が高価なため、毛皮用に養殖されている。
