...To the east of Yoritomo's tomb is the ancient Egara Tenjin Shrine, and Kamakura Shrine, founded in 1869 (Meiji 2). To the north of that is Kakuon-ji Temple, and to the east of Kamakura Shrine are the ruins of Nikaido Eifuku-ji Temple and Zuisen-ji Temple. The road that runs east-west in front of Yoritomo's tomb is the Kanazawa Road, which passes through the ancient temples of Sugimoto-ji Temple, Jomyoji Temple, and Asahina Kiridoshi before heading out to Kanazawa-Hakkei on the Tokyo Bay coast. The coast of Sagami Bay is divided in two by the mouth of the Namegawa River, which flows through the center of the old Kamakura city area. On the east bank is Zaimokuza Beach, and on the west bank is Yuigahama Beach, both of which are crowded with beachgoers in the summer. ...
