Feather moss

...This growth cycle repeats year after year, resulting in a plant body resembling a multi-layered tower or staircase, often reaching a length of more than 20 cm. For this reason, it is called tower moss in China and stair-step moss or feather moss in English. The same genus, H. brevirostre (Brid.) BSG, is a common species in mountainous areas throughout Japan.
