...Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto is enshrined here. In the past, the enshrined deities were Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto, Oyamatsumi-no-Kami, Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, Sukunahikona-no-Mikoto, and Emperor Ankan, but in the Kamakura period, he was called Konsei Daimyojin or Kanayama Myojin, and was considered a god who protected gold. In 853 (Jinju 3), he became a famous deity, and in 854 (Saiho 1), he was considered a deity that receives offerings at the Tsukitsugi, Soname, and Kamiimashoku festivals. ...
