Kanagawa-go

Japanese: 神奈河郷 - かながわごう
Kanagawa-go

...A port and post town in Sagami Province (Kanagawa Prefecture). It is said to have first appeared in the "Documents of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine" in a letter dated May 2, 1266, from Hojo Tokimune, referring to Kanagawa-go as part of the shrine's territory. During the Nanboku-cho period, a fee was collected from ships sailing in and out of Kanagawaura, which was donated to the construction of Engakuji Butsuni-an Temple and to Shomyoji Temple in Kanazawa, Musashi.
