［History］
Until the beginning of the Meiji era, this area was in the southeastern part of Sagami Province and Musashi Province. At the end of the Edo period, Odawara Domain and Ogino-Yamanaka Domain were established in Sagami Province, and Kanazawa Domain was established in Musashi Province, and the area was also a mixture of Tenryo, Hatamoto Domain, Temple and Shrine Domain, and Enclaves. In 1868 (Meiji 1), the Kanagawa Court was established in place of the Kanagawa Magistrate's Office, and the area was renamed Kanagawa Prefecture and Kanagawa Prefecture. Tenryo and other areas were included in Nirayama Prefecture, and the following year Kanazawa Domain was renamed Mutsuura Domain. In 1871, following the abolition of the feudal domains and the establishment of prefectures, Sagami Province and Izu Province were integrated into Ashigara Prefecture, and the others were integrated into Kanagawa Prefecture.

　明治初年までの相模国と武蔵国の南東部にあたり，幕末には相模国に小田原藩，荻野山中藩，武蔵国に金沢藩が置かれたほか，天領，旗本領，寺社領，飛地が混在していた。1868年(明治1)神奈川奉行所に代わって神奈川裁判所が置かれ，神奈川府，神奈川県と改称，天領などは韮山（にらやま）県に属し，翌年金沢藩は六浦（むつら）藩と改称した。71年廃藩置県をへて相模国は伊豆国とともに足柄県に，他は神奈川県に統合された。…
