...In the auxiliary shrines, deities with close ties to the main deity are enshrined, and in many cases, the subordinate shrines are small shrines subordinate to the main deity. In contrast to the above, guest deities are enshrined in a corner of the worship hall where the main deity is enshrined, or are called "kado guest deities" and enshrined in a place similar to a subordinate deity, and are characterized by not yet having an independent shrine. Examples include "arahabaki deity" in Tohoku and Kanto, and "kadomori deity" in southern Kyushu, but there are also cases where a separate shrine larger than an ordinary shrine is built to enshrine them.
