Kawar - Kawar

...a religious hymn of Muslims in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The word derives from qawl (words of testimony) and refers to songs sung by musicians called qawwals at the memorial festivals held at the shrines of Islamic mystical saints. Originally, it was a song sung at meetings held by Sufis to confess their faith and achieve union with God, and is recited to tune to Persian and Urdu poetic ghazals.
