・CHO ・CHO is an abbreviation of Chief Human Officer, and is positioned as the person responsible for human resources among management resources, and is translated as Chief Human Resources Officer, etc. -The role of the CHO is to stand between employees and management and contribute to improving corporate value by fulfilling all responsibilities in human resource management. -Originally, in the United States, the board of directors made decisions and also conducted audits, and the roles of the board of directors and executive officers were clearly separated, with the actual work being carried out by the executive officers. Therefore, in American companies, the CHO is positioned as an executive officer who actually leads business divisions and functional departments, and is fully responsible for human resource management. - In recent years in Japan, there has been a growing trend to clarify executive responsibility (a growing trend to separate management and execution), and titles that clarify executive responsibility, such as CHO, have come to be used. ・However, since the responsibilities are no different from the "job titles" traditionally used in Japanese companies, it can also simply refer to the head of the human resources department, who is the head of a department. ・A similar title to CHO is CEO (Chief Executive Officer). and CFO (Chief Financial Officer). (※)Currently in Japan, there is no legal definition of this. Source: Active & Company, Inc. Human Resource Management Glossary Information |
・CHOと似た呼称には、CEO(最高経営責任者 Chief Executive Officer) やCFO(最高経理責任者 Chief Finacial Officer)などある。
