This Shinto sect was founded in 1786 by the Shingon Buddhist monk Jion Sonja Onko at the foot of Mount Katsuragi in Kawachi Province by the Shingon Buddhist priest Jion Sonja Onko. Its basic scriptures are the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, and it preaches Shinto according to the principles of esoteric Buddhism. Its secrets are sincere conscience and the righteous principles of the emperor and his subjects, and it rejects Confucianism, which preaches the way of husband and wife and friendship. 江戸時代中期の真言宗の僧慈雲尊者飲光 (おんこう) が,天明6 (1786) 年河内国葛城山麓の真言律宗高貴寺で創唱した神道。『古事記』『日本書紀』を基本教典とし,密教の理によって神道を説く。赤心と君臣の大義を神道の奥義とし,夫婦,朋友の道を説く儒教を退ける。慈雲所伝の神道の意から雲伝神道ともいう。
