Jeju - last week

It is the largest city on Jeju Island, located in the northern part of the southernmost part of South Korea (Republic of Korea). It is the capital of Jeju Province. It has an area of ​​253.89 square kilometers and a population of 278,500 (estimated in 2001). It has Jeju Port, which has been the gateway to Jeju Island since ancient times, and regular ferries operate between Mokpo, Busan, Chujado, and Wando. It is important not only as a trading port but also as a fishing port, and the city stretches in a strip along the coast, with a growing population. An international airport has also been opened, and direct flights are available from major cities in Japan as well as from Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka).

韓国（大韓民国）、最南端の済州島北部にある、同島最大の都市。済州道の道庁所在地。面積253.89平方キロメートル。人口27万8500（2001推計）。古代から済州島の関門であった済州港を擁し、木浦(もくほ／モクポ)、釜山(ふざん／プサン)、楸子島(しゅうしとう／チュジャド)、莞島(かんとう／ウァンド)間に定期船が運航されている。貿易港としてだけでなく漁港としても重要で、市街は海岸に沿って帯状に延び、人口が増加している。また国際空港が開設され、国内主要都市とはもちろん、日本（東京、名古屋、大阪、福岡）からの直行便も運航している。
