Noodles - Noodle (English spelling)

Noodles - Noodle (English spelling)

A type of pasta (a general term for Western-style noodles) that is strip-shaped like Japanese Kishimen noodles. In America, it often refers to handmade noodles made with the addition of eggs. The Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS) stipulate that it is a strip-shaped type of macaroni, and does not require the use of eggs. In Italy, there are several types of strip-shaped pasta, the most representative of which is fettuccine. Fettuccine comes in green varieties made with strained spinach, and red varieties made with tomatoes. Like spaghetti, it is boiled and eaten with meat sauce, garlic sauce, or other sauces. Noodles are also used in a broad sense as a general term for noodles.
