Flower and bird poetry

Japanese: 花鳥諷詠 - かちょうふうえい

To simply and objectively sing the praises of the various phenomena that occur in the natural and human world as a result of the changing seasons.

[Explanation] "Kachou" means flowers and birds, that is, nature reflected in the eyes. "Fuuei" means composing poetry. Since Takahama Kyoshi claimed in 1927 that this was the true path of haiku, it has been respected as the basic principle of the Lesser Cuckoo school of haiku.

[解説] 「花鳥」は花と鳥、すなわち目に映ずる自然の意味。「諷詠」は詩歌を詠むこと。高浜虚子が昭和二年（1927）に、これが俳句の本道であると主張してから、ホトトギス派俳句の基本的な理念として尊重されました。
