Kacho Heiya

Japanese: 香長平野 - かちょうへいや

A plain located in the eastern half of the Kochi Plain in central Kochi Prefecture, along the downstream coast of the Monobe River. It is divided into the Akaoka and Noichi plateaus (plateau land) and the alluvial plain, but the plain is an alluvial fan with a relatively steep slope. It is the agricultural center of the prefecture, and greenhouse horticulture has developed in place of the former double cropping. It has long been developed as the center of Tosa, and remains of the jori system remain. Nangoku City is located on the west bank of the Monobe River.

高知県中部，高知平野の東半部で，物部川下流沿岸に展開する平野。赤岡，野市の両台地 (台地面) と沖積平野とに分けられるが，扇状地性で平野の傾斜が比較的大きい。県下の農業中心地で，かつての二期作に代って現在は施設園芸が発達。古くから土佐の中心地として開発され，条里制の遺構などが残存する。物部川西岸に南国市がある。
