Kawachinagano [city]

Japanese: 河内長野[市] - かわちながの

A city in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1954. Most of it lies on the northern slopes of the Izumi Mountains and Kongo Mountains. In the northern part, the city center is located in the Ishikawa River basin, a tributary of the Yamato River, and was once a strategic location where the East and West Koya Highways met. The Kintetsu Nagano Line and the Nankai Electric Railway Koya Line run through the city. Lumber and foundry industries are thriving, and toothpicks and grapes are local specialties. In recent years, it has become a commuter town for Osaka City. The mountainous area is part of the Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park, and there is a hiking trail to Mount Kongo. In addition to Kanshinji Temple and Kongoji Temple, there are many historical sites from the Southern Court around Chihayaakasaka Village. Area: 109.63 ^km2 . Population: 112,490 (2010).

大阪府南部の市。1954年市制。大部分は和泉山脈と金剛山地の北斜面。北部の大和川の支流石川の流域に古来東・西高野街道の合する要地であった中心市街があり，近鉄長野線，南海電鉄高野線が通じる。製材，鋳物工業が盛んで，つまようじ，ブドウを特産。最近は大阪市のベッドタウン化が進んでいる。山地は金剛生駒紀泉国定公園に属し，金剛山へのハイキングコースもあり，観心寺，金剛寺のほか千早赤阪村にかけては南朝の史跡が多い。109.63km²。11万2490人（2010）。
