Guo Xue-sen

...A researcher of elementary school (characterology) in the Five Dynasties and early Song Dynasty in China. He is also known as the foremost border painting artist of the Northern Song Dynasty. He was born in Luoyang, Henan Province. His pen name was Shuxian. He was known for his unrestrained and unrestrained behavior, and was politically unpopular. However, in the field of elementary school research, he made important contributions to the relationship between the changes in character shapes and the pronunciation and meaning of characters, and in art history, he was a groundbreaking figure who opened up a new frontier in the history of border painting by combining border painting with ink-wash landscape painting.
