Fedchenko lednik (Fedchenko glacier)

The world's largest valley glacier, located in the northeastern Pamir Plateau in the Republic of Tajikistan. It has an area of ​​1,350 square kilometers and a total length of about 77 kilometers. It was named in honor of the explorer Fedchenko. It originates on the northern face of Rebolyutia Peak (6,974 meters) and flows north, joining many tributaries from the Academia Mountains and Komunism Peak (7,495 meters) on the west side. Its terminal altitude is about 2,900 meters and it flows into the Muk-Su River of the Amu Darya system. There is a meteorological observation station on the glacier at an altitude of 4,200 meters.
