In the Edo period, this was an office located in Higashi-no-toin, Kyoto, that served as the central body of the blind self-governing organization known as the Dodo. It was also called "Shikiyashiki." Its leader was called Shokukengyo or Sokengyo. In contrast, the branch office located in Edo Honjo Hitotsume was called Sorokuyashiki, and its leader was called Sorokukengyo. 江戸時代,盲人の自治組織の当道の制度において,その総括機関として京都東洞院にあった役所。「しきやしき」ともいう。その統率者を職検校または総検校といった。これに対し,江戸本所一ツ目におかれた出張所を惣録屋敷といい,その統率者を惣録検校といった。いずれも明治4 (1871) 年廃止。
