Born in 1799. The originator of Genji-bushi. He first learned Shinnai-bushi from Okamoto Miyakodayu, and later added Edo Sekkei-bushi, a ritual song, to it, which gained a good reputation. In 1872, his disciple Misamatsu named it Sekkei-Genji-bushi, and it was further shortened to Genji-bushi. He passed away in 1882. He was 83 years old. He was from Edo.
