...A Turkic ethnic group whose main habitat is the Republic of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and the Yilhasake Autonomous Prefecture in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The Russians mistakenly called them Kyrgyz or Kyrgyz Kazakhs, so they are referred to as such in old Western documents.
