Flower garden plants - kakien geishokubutsu

...The number of species of plants cultivated for ornamental purposes is impossible to count accurately, but it is estimated at more than 30,000. Ornamental plants are divided into various groups, such as trees and flowering plants that create forest-like landscapes in parks, streets, and gardens, herbaceous ornamental plants planted in flower beds associated with them, foliage plants that are viewed indoors under low light, and greenhouse plants that are grown in temperature-controlled greenhouses. However, this classification is merely expedient, given the diversity of ornamental plants. They are also classified according to their life cycle, such as annuals, perennials, bulbous plants, succulents, and trees, and according to the type of cultivation and use, such as cut flowers and potted plants.
