...Although the process of its establishment is not well known, it is believed that the sect's scriptures (which are said to number 108) began to be created around the 7th century. Three collections of texts (samhitas), namely, "Sattvata", "Pauskara" and "Jayakyā", are revered as the Three Jewels, but the other famous works are "Ahirbdniya-samhita" and "Lakshmi-tantra", which describe detailed procedures for esoteric rituals. The doctrines taught in these scriptures are not necessarily consistent, but the theory of manifestation (vyūha), which counts four beings, namely, Baṣathdevā, Saṅkarṣaṇa (or Baladeva), Pradyumna, and Aniruddha, corresponds to the Bhagavata theory of incarnation. ...
