This is what we call hardware. A general term for the equipment that makes up the entire computer system. Refers to tangible things such as equipment, as opposed to software, which refers to intangible things such as computer utilization technology. Recently, the words hardware and software have often been used in places unrelated to computers, and technology and know-how in particular are referred to as "soft," while other tangible equipment is referred to as "hard." For example, a sales floor as a building is considered "hard," but intangible things such as customer service techniques and product technology are often distinguished as "soft."
