Chemical gypsum (gypsum)

Japanese: 化学セッコウ(石膏) - かがくせっこう
Chemical gypsum (gypsum)

...Snowflake gypsum (alabaster) is a type of gypsum that is made in large quantities as a by-product of the chemical industry. In addition to natural gypsum, chemical gypsum is produced in large quantities as a by-product of the chemical industry. Examples include phosphate gypsum from the phosphoric acid manufacturing industry, glauconite gypsum made from glauconite by-products in the chemical industry and calcium chloride in the soda industry, and flue gas desulfurized gypsum from the process of removing sulfur dioxide from flue gas. Japan's gypsum resources are almost entirely dependent on these chemical gypsums, which is a completely different situation from other countries.
