Li Yu, who moved from Hangzhou to Nanjing at the age of 50, had a side business called Mustard Seed Garden, where he also ran a bookstore and published the Mustard Seed Garden Illustrated Biography, a well-known fact in the history of Chinese art. He later took up residence at the foot of Yunju Mountain in Hangzhou, and died there of natural causes, despite his poverty. …
