Kalibangan (English spelling)

The ruins of a city from the Indus Valley Civilization in the Ganganagar district in northern Rajasthan, India. It is located on the bank of the dried-up Ghaggar River. Excavations began in 1961 by Lal BBLāl and BK Thapar of the Archaeological Service of India. Like other cities of the Indus Valley Civilization, the city is located to the east and the citadel to the west. Both are long from north to south, and are quadrilaterals with parallel east and west sides. Both the city and ramparts are equipped with bastions. The citadel is 120m wide from east to west and 240m long from north to south. The city is 240m wide from east to west and 360m long from north to south.

インドのラージャスターン州北部ガンガナガル地区にあるインダス文明都市期の都市遺跡。ガッガル涸川の岸に位置する。1961年からインド考古局のラールB.B.LālとターパルB.K.Thaparが発掘。インダス文明の他の都市と同じく，東に市街，西に城塞を配置し，双方とも南北に長く，東西が平行する四辺形で，城壁･市壁ともに突角堡を備える。城塞は東西幅120m，南北長240m。市街は東西幅240m，南北長360m。
