…In 1777 (An'ei 6), Kiyu Teisanjin's "Nihon Suikoden" (The Japanese Suikoden) was published, which is said to have literary historical value in that it inspired Bakin's "Nansō Satomi Hakkenden" (The Tale of the Eight Dogs of Nansō Satomi). Itami Chinen wrote "Onna Suikoden" (The Female Suikoden), which shows a unique idea in that the heroes of "Suikoden" are transformed into women from the Ashikaga period. This also influenced Bakin's collection of volumes, "Keisei Suikoden" (The Beautiful Suikoden). …
