Takasaburo - Takasaburo

Japanese: タカサブロウ - たかさぶろう
Takasaburo - Takasaburo

An annual plant of the Asteraceae family. The stems are well-branched, ranging from creeping to erect. The leaves are opposite each other and rough with short bristles along with the stems. From July to September, white flower heads grow on flower stalks several centimeters long in the leaf axils at the ends of the branches. The flower heads consist of ray and tubular flowers, both of which bear fruit. The ray corollas are thin, and the tubular corollas have four lobes at the end. They grow in rice paddies and wetlands from Okinawa to Honshu, as well as in urban ditches, and are widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics.
