Anti-satellite

...This is a multi-layered defense system that uses lasers and other weapons to destroy Soviet ballistic missiles at each stage: while the rocket engine is burning, until the multi-nuclear warhead is on track for the target, while flying in space, and at the time of terminal re-entry (Figure 2). As for the development of weapons to attack military satellites such as reconnaissance satellites (ASAT, anti-satellite), it has been reported that the Soviet Union has already deployed anti-satellite satellites (killer satellites), and the United States is developing a system in which fighter jets are equipped with small interceptor missiles using a multi-stage rocket-type infrared homing system, which are launched into space at high altitudes after a rapid ascent.
