Barium orthotitanate

...The chemical formula is Ba ₂ TiO ₄ or BaTiO ₃ . The former is called barium orthotitanate, and the latter is called barium metatitanate, but in reality it is an ionic crystal (double oxide) consisting of Ba ²⁺ , Ti ⁴⁺ and O ^2- , and does not have independent anions like TiO ₄ ^4- and TiO ₃ ^2- . The latter is better known, so we will discuss it below.
