More than an audience - Omemieijo

Japanese: 御目見以上 - おめみえいじょう

〘 noun 〙 In the Edo period, among the samurai who served the shogun directly, those who were eligible to be granted an audience with the shogun. These were the hatamoto. It was used as a word to express the status of the samurai. ⇔ Below the level of an audience with the shogun. ※Financial and Economic Documents - 6, Finance, Territory and Chigyo, Daimyo Territory, August 7th year of Kyoho (1722), "More than 5,215 people with an audience with the shogun and below 10,000 koku"
