Lee Tae-jun

Japanese: 李泰俊 - りたいしゅん
Lee Tae-jun

Korean novelist. Born in Gangwon Province. He began his creative career in the late 1920s, and during the heyday of the proletarian literature movement, he organized the "Nine Men's Association" with Jeong Ji-yong and Lee Hyo-seok, and confronted the Korean Proletarian Arts League under the banner of pure literature. After liberation, he became one of the leaders of the left-wing literary world, aiming to establish a democratic national literature. After liberation, he moved to North Korea and held important positions such as chairman of the Korean Writers' Union, but was purged in 1953 as part of the Im Hwa Incident. In addition to excellent collections of short stories such as "Crow" (1935) and "Fukdeok-bo" (1937), he was also the editor of the magazine "Wu-sung," which played a groundbreaking role in the movement to protect the Korean language and literature under Japanese colonial rule.
