Oboiwai - Oboiwai

...A celebration in which a pregnant woman is given a belly band. Depending on the region, it is called Ubuiwai, Oboiwai, Obotate, etc. Obi, obu, and ubu are said to come from the same root as the word ubu (to give birth).
