Japanese: 魚価 - ぎょか

Fish prices refer not only to the price of fish, but generally to the prices of marine products including whales, seaweed, and shellfish. Fish prices are divided into wholesale prices at the production site, wholesale prices at the consumption site, intermediate wholesale prices, and retail prices depending on the distribution stage. Various expenses are incurred on the way marine products travel from the production site to the retail store at the consumption site, and fish prices are determined by these expenses. The expenses incurred before being sold at a retail store can be listed as follows: (1) fishing expenses such as fuel oil and labor costs for fishing boats, (2) wholesale fees at the production site, (3) shipping margins such as freight and packing and packaging, (4) wholesale fees at the consumption site, (5) intermediate wholesaler margins, and (6) retail margins such as the cost of cooking and packing ingredients and labor costs.

魚価は，魚の価格を指すことはもちろんであるが，一般に，鯨，海藻，貝類等を含めた水産物の価格をいう。魚価は流通段階によって，産地卸売価格，消費地卸売価格，仲卸価格，小売価格などに分けられる。水産物は産地から消費地の小売店に来るまでの間にさまざまな経費がかかり，魚価はこれらの経費を背景にして成り立っている。小売店で販売されるまでの経費を列挙すると次のようなものがあげられる。(1)漁船の燃料油代や人件費など漁業での経費，(2)産地卸売での手数料，(3)運賃や荷造包装などの出荷マージン，(4)消費地卸売での手数料，(5)仲卸のマージン，(6)調理･パックの材料費や人件費などの小売マージン，などである。
