Obou Kichisa

Japanese: お坊吉三 - おぼうきちさ

A character from the Kabuki play "Sannin Kichisakura Hatsukai."
He is the eldest son of Yasumori Genjibei and a former samurai thief. He pledges himself to be blood brothers with Ojo Kichisa and Osho Kichisa. The story unfolds around 100 ryo of gold, and at the end they are surrounded by police and the three are stabbed to death by mutual stab. Written by Kawatake Mokuami, it was first performed at the Edo Ichimuraza in 1860 (Ansei 7).

安森源次兵衛の長男で,侍くずれの盗賊。お嬢吉三,和尚吉三と盗賊どうしで義兄弟の契りをかわす。100両の金をめぐって物語が展開し,最後に捕方(とりかた)にかこまれ,3人が刺しちがえて死ぬ。河竹黙阿弥の作で,安政7年(1860)江戸市村座初演。
