〘Noun〙① A school of Shingon Buddhism's Jisso-jo school. It was founded by Kukai's fourth abbot, Hoson Shoho. Later, Ninkai opened Mandala-ji Temple in Ono, Daigo, Kyoto, and spread the style, hence the name. Of these, the Ono Three Schools, which were established by Kanshuji Kanshin, Anjoji Soi, and Zuishin'in Masutshun, and which were founded by Nobushige, a disciple of Ninkai's direct brother Seison, are sometimes referred to as the Daigo Three Schools, which were established by Seison's disciple Shokaku, and sometimes only the Zuishin'in school is referred to as the Ono School. These schools place great importance on oral transmission from teacher to student. 〘名〙① 真言宗事相上の一流。空海第四世の法孫聖宝が創始したもの。のち、仁海が京都醍醐小野に曼荼羅寺を開いてその流儀を広めたのでこの名がある。うち、仁海の直弟成尊の弟子範俊より生じた勧修寺寛信・安祥寺宗意・随心院増俊の流派・小野三流を、成尊の弟子勝覚より生じた醍醐三流に対していうこともあり、また、随心院流だけを小野流ということもある。これらの流派は、師資相承の口伝を重んじる。小野密派。⇔広沢流(ひろさわりゅう)。→小野三流・小野六流。※神皇正統記（1339‐43）中「彼元杲(げんがう)の弟子仁海僧正、又知法の人なりき。小野と云所にすまれけるより小野流と云」② 剣術の一派。近世初期、小野二郎右衛門忠常の始めたもので、一刀流の刀術を伝える。小野派。小野派一刀流。〔本朝武芸小伝（1716）〕③ 小野道風の筆法をくむ、書道の一流派。※浮世草子・武道伝来記（1687）六「堪忍あそばして給はれと小野流(ヲノリウ)のふるひ筆をとめてつかはせば」
