[Died] March 24, 1995. Tokyo Kabuki actor. Stage name: Otowaya. Real name: Terashima Seizo. Onnagata (female actor). Adopted son of the 6th Onoe Kikugorou. In 1947, he succeeded to the 7th name. A leading onnagata (female actor) of the Onoe Kikugorou Theatre Company, he was able to handle both new works and classics. His style of performance was full of elegance, and he had many outstanding handsome roles. He was also an excellent dancer. His best roles included Tamate Gozen in "Setsu Goppo Tsuji," Hanako in "Nyo Dojoji," and Judge in "Kanadehon Chushingura." In 1968, he was recognized as a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property. In 1976, he became a member of the Japan Art Academy, and in 1994, he was designated a Person of Cultural Merit. The first to fifth generations of Onoe Kikugorou used their former names or pen names as Onoe Kikugorou.

歌舞伎俳優。屋号音羽屋。本名寺嶋誠三。女方。6世尾上菊五郎の養子。 1947年7世襲名。新作，古典ともにこなす尾上菊五郎劇団の立女方。気品あふれる芸風で，二枚目にも名品が少なくない。舞踊も秀逸。あたり役は『摂州合邦辻』の玉手御前，『娘道成寺』の花子，『仮名手本忠臣蔵』の判官など。 1968年重要無形文化財保持者の認定を受けた。 1976年日本芸術院会員，1994年文化功労者に選ばれた。なお，1世から5世までは尾上菊五郎の前名または俳名。
